At a House Science Committee space subcommittee hearing this morning. Everything you wanted to know about FAA Part 450 launch licensing but were afraid to ask.

These new regulations were in the works for literally years (2018-2020), drawing feedback from industry to drive the language for streamlining their operations. Then it turned out these somehow do not streamline operations, so how did we get this level of "incompetence"?

SpaceX The spacewalk will be well above the International Space Station and above the Hubble Space Telescope, which Jared is hoping to repair.

The immediate headline is that the Starship launch is likely delayed until November at the earliest due to the FAA continually dragging it out. The long term outlook however is much more dire. SpaceX is being unfairly blocked by bad actors and detractors. This IS a problem.

The Polaris Dragon capsule is currently (5:34 PM CST (2234 UTC) on its way to the 8th perigee since launch, so we may soon see a orbit-raising burn coming up to raise the apogee up to the record-breaking 1,400 Km altitude soon! This would be the next major milestone for

Dragon and the Polaris Dawn crew have completed six orbits of Earth at ~1,400 km. Over the next five hours, Dragon will perform four burns to lower itself to an orbit of ~190 x 742 km in preparation for Thursday’s spacewalk

The The Boring Company crews are applying a white stain to the W side Giga Texas tunnel while horizontal drilling for the natural gas pipe is setting up nearby. In the S extension, crews have completed trench work near the tunnel opening & installed exhaust fans above the tunnel

Lots and lots of Cybertruck at the Giga Texas outbound lot this morning, with a large group being moved into covered carriers. Production seems very robust too as I saw many more exiting the factory along with a big group of Model Ys. More coming up later today!
