Jay Wamsted Unpopular opinion but I’m with you. I was a trained soldier deployed to Iraq for a year. I don’t want to be armed as a teacher at school. It’s a different environment.

Most school shootings occur in parking lots at dismissal or at sports events

Arming teachers will stop none of these & will only lead to additional accidental injuries

The “inside the building” event is so unlikely as to not be worth the risk of additional guns in the building

4th straight day of testing & it is like we have left the world of education altogether & only exist in a dimension where robots relentlessly mine for data

Me: I am already exceptionally well trained. At teaching math to teenagers. I cannot add a totally different job to that

Is it going to be public knowledge which teachers are carrying their guns to school?

I can't be the only parent who would want my kid out of that class immediately

4 hours of ELA testing spread out over 2 days

& yet we will learn nothing from this marathon that we couldn’t have learned in half that time

Actually, the best part about testing is when they draw you with their free time at the end of the test

The only part of testing I like is the look of terror in the children’s eyes when I tell them they can’t keep their Stanley cups on the desk during the test
