I attended the 79th Nagasaki Peace Ceremony today, to commemorate the atomic bombing. I was honoured to represent Ireland at this moving event and stand in solidarity with the people of Nagasaki, and to remember the victims of the terrible bombing.

Delighted to have hosted the participants at IASIL Japan’s successful 40th anniversary Irish Literature Conference in Tokyo last week. Thanks to Prof Andy Fitzsimons for organising such a great event with speakers from all around the world, and the publication of their journal.

Great to meet in Iwaki, Fukushima with the 5 Support Our Kids group who travelled to Ireland recently for home stays. They enjoyed their trip and were able to raise awareness about the impact of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.

Delighted to collaborate on an talk by Lucy Caldwell (Lucy Caldwell) during her visit to Japan for 2024 IASIL Conference and 40th Anniversary of IASIL Japan . Lucy was the first international writer hosted by #Okayama since its UNESCO designation as City of Literature last year.
