An amazing day celebrating David Holtzman career and time as Chair of Neurology. Fantastic talks from so many Holtzman lab alumni- such a testament to Dave's incredible record of scientific excellence and mentorship! He got a well-deserved standing ovation after his Bishop lecture.

rdcu.be/dMdQ9   Excited and proud to see the final version of our manuscript out Nature Communications, describing a new lipid droplet reporter mouse, which allows staining-free fluorescent visualization of #LipidDroplets!! Check out how numerous they are in the brain!

Results show that APOE4 carriers exhibit lower REM #sleep duration, including in cognitively unimpaired individuals, possibly resulting from early neurodegenerative processes in regions involved in REM sleep generation and maintenance. ow.ly/n47Z50Sv0j1 #Alzheimers

Great work by Matt Brier finding a lower rate of amyloid pathology in older patients with multiple sclerosis. Also, interesting case of a cognitively unimpaired MS patient on immunosuppressive therapy with normal %p-tau217, very high amyloid PET burden (centiloid 109), and

Pat Sheehan Erik Musiek Amazing work! We have similar findings, albeit we looked at less timepoints. We also found that time of microglia collection affects transcriptomic changes in disease! sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Your work is even more thorough! Congrats!

Scientists at WashU are working out the particulars of how our internal biological clocks keep time. Their new research, published July 24 in PNAS, helps answer longstanding questions about how #circadian rhythms are generated and maintained. ow.ly/yp6x50SKv8t

MSTP student extraordinaire Collin Nadarajah delivering his talk on astrocyte REV-ERBs at #CSHLglia. It's a big stage but he did very well. My first time at the meeting and it was great. Thanks to Erin Gibson for highlighting our glial circadian translatome paper.

Insane scores tonight in the SEC: Ole Miss wins 76-0 Auburn 73-3 Arkansas 70-0 Tennessee 69-3 Bama 63-0 Texas 52-0 and Mizzou 51-0 seem modest. Not sure I've ever seen so many scores like this.
