I have met with Hon. Minister of Justice Norbert Mao to discuss ways of strengthening access to justice in UG, the need for wide access to legal aid, the Transitional Justice Bill and the status of the National Plan on Human Rights. The AustrianDev funded #SCCR is implementing a #TripleNexus approach through seven consortium partners including ACP Schlaining Österr. Rotes Kreuz CARE Uganda PALM Corps Uganda Red Cross Society focusing on training peace monitors, SGBV and conflict resolution in West Nile. A unique project!

Last week I attended the 7th Joan Kagezi Memorial Lecture at Kololo Independence Grounds. I knew Joan personally and will never forget her professionalism, dedication and commitment. I commend the ODPPUGANDA for intentionally holding this annual memorial in her remembrance.

The Austrian Dev’t Bank OeEB 🇦🇹 together w European Investment Bank 🇪🇺 and #BIO 🇧🇪 recently launched the ‚TowerCo of Africa’ project to improve access to telecom services in rural UG 🇺🇬 by installing 506 telecom towers. A vital partnership to support Government of Uganda‘s digital transformation.
