It has been a brilliant winter and spring for our #SussexCattle using #NoFence GPS collars on #FarthingDowns and #KenleyCommon. Nofence has transformed how we carry out conservation grazing allowing us to tackle tricky scrub patches and thatch build-up in our hay meadows

Celebrating #InternationalDawnChorusDay at #FarthingDowns and #HappyValley. The early morning birdsong did not disappoint; chiffchaff, wren, dunnock, blackbird, song thrush, great tit, skylark, blackcap, linnet, and yellowhammer, all contributing to the mix!

For #FingerpostFriday, a couple of posts on Drive Road, which crosses the #LondonLOOP on #FarthingDowns. Drive Road is now a #PublicBridleway, but it was originally an ancient #DroversRoad, used to drive animals to market in #Croydon and #Banstead

How many species of Orchid can be fitted into one photo I wonder? Total of seven species seen on my walk yesterday evening, in between finishing work and going to the chip shop. City Commons

One of the two windmills on #CoulsdonCommon. The two mills stood on either side of Stites Hill road for over 100 years from 1777 to 1880 when the original mill was pulled down and the second in 1924. Discover more on our Heritage and Ale Trail 19.06.24: shorturl.at/Srqob

It was a big day for our Jacob sheep yesterday as they all came back to the yard for shearing. Like last year, we'll be using the wool as mulch to keep down the weeds where we've planted new hedges on #KenleyCommon and #CoulsdonCommon

Proof that you don't need to go far from the roadside to find stunning wildflowers. This slope is right next to the busy A22 at #Riddlesdown. It's jam-packed with pyramidal orchids!
