As the father of young children I know that there are few things more important than the future of our planet. The UK has rightly led the way, becoming the 1st major economy to halve its emissions.
I'll be proud to play my part working with Claire Coutinho MP's fantastic DESNZ team

So pleased to be elected as a fellow of Royal Society of Edinburgh. It's a lovely honour.
Special thanks to my team Climate Change Committee for their support (and especially for the insights they've provided on Scotland's climate progress).
🙏
Congratulations to our Chief Executive, Chris Stark, (Chris Stark) for becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
This interview with Chris Stark chimes so much with my own thoughts. Each nation needs to play to its strengths in an enabling policy environment. Climate action needs collaboration. Hope all heed this.
This is a hugely important report from Climate Change Committee and follows on from previous warnings Scotland was off track. It's not just targets we will miss but opportunities. Opportunities for investment, for job creation, for better air quality, warmer homes and nature recovery.
My final report with Climate Change Committee - and it’s the Scottish Net Zero Progress Report, which feels like a decent way to sign off.
