if I had a boyfriend who treated me the way JSPs treat me it’d be considered financial abuse and coercive control. and it’s not a gender-neutral dynamic: women are much more likely to be poor, disabled, to have to rely on Centrelink. why don’t we consider this gendered violence?

After 80 minute hold Centrelink (again) accidentally hangs up mid sentence. My son's has been cancelled because they lost/deleted my income statement. @servicesGovAU the system is broken.

Called back only to be told that the wait time is 85 MINUTES!

Why don't you bother returning calls if/when the call drops out?

Services Australia Im wondering how long do you take to actually action Medical Cert forms uploaded via the 'upload document' feature of the Centrelink app? Because I submitted one a week ago & youve still not processed it

The ASU has proudly joined 200 prominent women urging the PM to raise the rate now. Financial security is crucial for women facing domestic & family violence. We can't wait—women can't wait. Read the letter here: bit.ly/4bquLX6

Part of the issue is sole parents are told by centrrelink & job agencies study to better your earning potential is not part of 'being available for work' Ive got 2 half done courses bc the rules change & so do requirements. Its farcical

'Seven months ago, rents in the area I am in were $300 a week. Two months ago when I went looking to see if there was a way to get out of my lease and move in somewhere cheaper, rents had risen to $350.'

While we're on the issue, can we also talk about how the complete breakdown of Centrelink's service impacts women?

Centrelink is blocking calls from people in distress en masse. And the government is showing no urgency to fix this quickly

Request from Services Australia to call within 14 days or they’ll cancel my request. Everytime I call (3 times a day before they stop allowing you to call) for 10 days their operators are busy. Services Australia what do you expect me to do?

Services Australia So, I spent the majority of yesterday on and off the phone to Centrelink AFTER NOT BEING PAID 2 PAY CYCLES IN A ROW, I was then told to wait until today. I've now called back AND SPENT ALMOST 3 HOURS ON HOLD only to be told to 'call back Monday'

If work for the dole is a thing that is suppose uplift and give the participants confidence why aren’t they paid award rates for this work ? I see WFD as way for orgs to take advantage and get free labour

The inadequate rate means I can't afford to treat them. They limit my ability to function. From being at risk of self harm and suicide 24/7 to not sleeping, chronic pain, difficulty focusing, lack of motivation, fear of doing things

I am on the dsp. My father, who was my carer, died on Valentines Day. Instead of being able to mourn in peace, I had to worry if I was going to be homeless, if I was going to have enough to live. No one should be in centrelink the day after their father dies
