Hundreds have gathered in Ballarat to honour Samantha Murphy, Rebecca Young and Hannah McGuire, demanding safety for their community.

This is categorically false. There's no way — no established process — for participants to do this. That's why their numbers (below) are so low. Shameless

jeremy poxon Amanda - ASU ✊DSW💕 There is no support payment which is between jobseeker and DSP. I was on JS found two tumours in 2011, they destroyed my health but was only granted DSP in 2022. I couldn’t afford to look after myself on $560 a fortnight and ended up blind. Needs a third type of payment

Cancer. No sickness benefit or DSP.
Nothing but JobSeeker, with a medical exemption only during surgery & immediate post-surgery stages.
After that, I battled severe side effects of treatment but still expected to look for work.

Weeks later after many phone calls, I was put on jobseeker with an exemption. Still got calls asking me to come in

jeremy poxon I've had to email Hank 3 times in the past year for things I shouldn't even need to contact Centrelink about. 2 x to code medical certificates uploaded weeks prior, 1 x to apply the MO exemption while DSP claim in progress. Suspending MO would immediately reduce so many calls!

i remember hearing people from old squatting movements in the 80s/90s say they couldn't do it today because of the changes to centrelink, the creation of mutual obligations. really opened my eyes to how these polices are such vital tools of social control & dissent suppression
