Why is it controversial that our academic institutions refrain from investing in weapons companies?

On the same day the International Court of Justice (CIJ_ICJ) orders Israel to immediately halt its military assault in Rafah, the University of Toronto issues notices of trespass to its students who are demanding that University of Toronto divest from the very same Israeli military violence.

UofT’s “offer” is such absolute bullshit. You can't “committee” and “taskforce” your way out of this. Especially under an implicit threat for putting students in the way of police violence if they don't comply. Shame.
