I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my friend and brother Tamale Mirundi. We were friends and colleagues for over 20 years. He was a bold and fearless person who always fought for the truth. Uganda has lost a patriot who loved his country. May his soul rest in peace.

Uganda has some challenges and will most likely be with more even when Gen. M7 leaves power. But we shall remember one fact, he aspired for some greatness. He had an ideal, he had a certain vision of the future. We shall appreciate the soul and spirit. On that M7 has earned it.

I am grateful to Almighty God that after 9 years, UPDF will finally be able to properly honour our late Commander, Afande Aronda. The remembrance and honoring of heroes is the beginning of civilisation.
