I’m devastated for my friends in Rolling Fork and all across the state tonight.

Morning Update as of 6:20am: We can confirm 23 dead, dozens injured, 4 missing due to last night's tornadoes. We have numerous local and state search and rescue teams that continue to work this morning. A number of assets are on the ground to assist those that have been impacted

At least twenty three Mississippians were killed by last night’s violent tornados. We know that many more are injured. Search and rescue teams are still active. The loss will be felt in these towns forever. Please pray for God’s hand to be over all who lost family and friends.

NW Mississippi had tornadoes last night. Reports with estimates of more than 20 deaths. Sharkey, Humphreys, Monroe & Carroll Counties seriously impacted. Significant damage in the orange highlighted area. We pray for those impacted by these tornadoes.

I just spoke with President Biden about the deadly tornados we faced overnight. He assured us FEMA would be there to support our response. The flood of support from governors, businesses, charities, and federal admin has been tremendous—matches the community here on the ground.

The courage and resilience of the people of Silver City was on full display. Emergency operators are working to respond, and we will be there for the recovery and rebuilding as we get beyond today. Pure strength and will in the face of heartbreaking loss.

We have submitted our major disaster declaration. The scale of the damage and loss is evident everywhere affected today. Homes, businesses…entire communities. Respond, Recover, Rebuild together. That is the mission.

The City of Olive Branch is working alongside msema to accept donations for the victims of the tornado that struck our state Friday, March 24. Donations will be accepted at the City of Olive Branch Fleet Services. Please see attached graphic for more details.
