This was the official beginning of them going canon. This was their moment of no return, this scene solidified it for the audience in a way they can't go back from; Eddie is Buck's last, Buck is Eddie's joy.

Eddie doesn't know he's gay bc he thinks about it like "this is how I feel about boys & this is how I feel about girls & they are polar opposite feelings but obviously I'm supposed to date girls so there's nothing else to think about" like he just no-thoughts his way through life

Buddie is LITERALLY the shows ONLY saving grace right now, it's the only plot that seems worth watching at this point

Need everyone to remember that Tim does whatever he fucking wants & he has wanted to reveal Eddie is gay since season 2, he moved the show to ABC & came back as showrunner FOR BUDDIE, Tim does what Tim wants & Tim wants Gay-Eddie & Buddie maybe even more than the rest of us

I've been off for quite a minute but I'm just popping back in to say; Buddie is the only reason Season 9 could be worth watching

Cutting this handshake wasn't about "having time", it would've taken 4 extra seconds, it was because they didn't want to "rush" Buddie growing towards canon, the same reason they cut the Eddie/Abby comparison line, they're so afraid of rushing that they're wasting so much time.

Can we please have a "Buck finds out an ex had his daughter whom he's now taking custody of" storyline while Eddie's figuring out he's gay, so Buck has a stable home life when Eddie realizes he wants to take care of Buck & his kid the way Bucks always taken care of him & Chris.

Ryan saying: "now you're my love interest" during press for season 9 was the BIGGEST "Buddie is getting together" announcement that anyone could have asked for, "Buck is Eddie's love interest", meaning Eddie canonically has feelings for Buck, even if he doesn't know yet

Imagine Buddie having a genuine flirt session in every episode leading up to Eddie coming out, just when Buck's convinced himself he's not in love with him bc he thinks he can't have him, only for Buck to try not to flirt anymore while Eddie's flirting even harder

Eddie's the perfect character to come out as gay bc he's just never been happy; they made it so clear he struggles with emotional repression to the point of mental illness, but he's extra miserable in any romantic relationship with any woman, like there's no other way to read him

Love the idea that all these years Eddie's just assumed that how he feels about Buck is the same way everyone else feels about Buck, like it never occurred to Eddie that he's been in love this whole time bc Buck's just so amazing who wouldn't feel this way around him.

Love Buddie on the kiss cam but also Buck on a date at a game that Eddie thought he'd be going to with Buck so now he's grumpy watching the game at home when the kiss cam comes on & he has to watch Buck kiss his date on live television & then explain to Buck why he needs a new tv

Buddie gets distracted on a call bickering so long that someone gets hurts or a huge mess spills out & they get sent to partner counseling & at the end of the session the counselor assumes they're a couple & tells them they're great together & Eddie just says thank you & blushes.

Sometimes the fact that Buck is bisexual, & suffered through the worst coming out story with the worst first bf possible, & yet somehow Eddie "Captain Overcompensation" Diaz is still in the closet, feels like a fever dream
