ATLANTIC CITY AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, N.J.-- At approximately 12:30 p.m. today, the high-expansion foam system at one of the 177FW F-16 aircraft hangars inadvertently released non-toxic, alcohol-based foam. The foam release was fully contained.

#ICYMI The New Jersey Air National Guard conducted its first Agile Combat Employment exercise in January. 177th Fighter Wing F-16 jets and a 108th Wing KC-135 mobilized south to Key West then Puerto Rico to test their ability to forward deploy, adapt and execute the mission.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service has decided not to proceed with today's prescribed burn at Warren Grove Range, due to enhanced risk of wildfire spread, and will reassess conditions in the next few weeks.

The 177th Fighter Wing is currently in lockdown in response to a suspicious incident report. This is an active investigation. We will provide an update when further details are available.

177FW received reports of an unknown source of gunshots during a base exercise. Shots heard were determined not to be an exercise inject. The exercise was immediately suspended and the base was placed in lockdown. Authorities determined the area to be clear and normal ops resume.
