This isn't prompted by anything other than knowing most people followed for that specifically but I do still like to share other photos and fan arts from the games.

It's nice seeing more people putting their pronouns online, but it needs to be backed by work. Are you a safe person for 2SLGBTQ+ people in real life? How do you support them? What are you doing to learn more? I ask these questions of myself often, even as a community member.

someone I know in Yellowknife just posted an email from a Vancouver-based company saying it couldn't ship a product by land because Yellowknife is "way up North" and "there's no land connection between the mainland." Once again I am encouraging people to look at a map.

Today I covered a rally of teens supporting a bill that would ensure LGBTQ+ supports at all schools in the Yukon. I asked a kid their name and they said shyly "well my legal name is ..." . Then I asked what their real name was. They lit up and said it so proudly.😭

it's very, very difficult to be proud to work for the CBC when we continue to peddle harmful stereotypes of Indigenous people in our coverage, regardless of whether it's our own reporting or through the Canadian Press.

a white journalist's idea of "fair and balanced" comes from a default white lens. what is fair and balanced to them is often unfair and skewed to Native people. the rulebooks in canadian journalism were written by white people -- it's why stuff like this gets past everyone.

I'm back on Twitter and in the Yukon after taking a month off to hike 800 km from France across Spain on the Camino de Santiago. I had the time of my life, but I'm happy to be home and back on the airwaves with you on Yukon Morning from 6-8:30am this morning with CBC North!

My Grandpa Dave told me he was sure he was gay when he was moving into his dorm room freshman year of college and there was a boy “with the prettiest eyes;” after Grandpa passed, I learned from my mother who that boy was.

I was just on a WestJet flight from Calgary to Whitehorse and we were told 45 mins from landing that the plane’s navigation system was broken and we needed to turn around and go back to Calgary. So now we’re back where we started 5 hours ago.

one of the best parts about living in the Yukon is that people always ask me when I'm going to get a dog and no one asks me when I'm going to have children.

While I'm going through a number of news clips, I see that the majority of news hosts and reporters do not know the difference between Nation and First Nation. And it's not easy to find with a Google search (and please jump in if you are First Nations and have a different take).
