It's been said over and over by the disabled community, and I'll repeat it for good measure: if we designed society and our systems around the needs of disabled people, life would become immensely more enjoyable and productive for everyone. Literally everyone would win.

When I was a kid, my school let us have our own mock presidential election (had no idea it wasn’t real). I voted for Jimmy Carter. Later on that evening, he won. I was so proud- thought I had really done something, 😅. He has made me proud ever since. #JimmyCarter

I struggled with this just last night. A group of us were meeting and the three of us who were Black kept a close eye on the clock. In order to get home, we knew we had to pass through towns where we would not be safe. The meeting hosts knew it also and made sure we ended early.
