Thinking of gifting a fire blanket? Skip it. There are no Canadian safety standards & Ontario’s Fire Marshal doesn’t endorse them for home use. Instead, give what really protects: a CO alarm. As of Jan 1, 2026, they’re required on every level. Learn more: RichmondHill.ca/Fire

🚨 Starting Jan 1, 2026, the Ontario Fire Code will require working carbon monoxide alarms on every storey of homes with fuel‑burning appliances, fireplaces, or attached garages - not just outside bedrooms as currently required. CO is invisible. Detection isn’t. Stay safe.
