Everyone has the right to attend the footy - or any sporting event for that matter - and have the right to feel safe and enjoy themselves.

We are all guilty of letting emotions get the better of us at times but remember it is only just a game. Learn the limit. 💔

Louder for the people at the back.

AFL is a privilege. At some point the privilege runs out.

Safety is a right. If you infringe on that right for others, you should lose your privileges.

It’s not complicated. Lives are actually at stake. At the end of the day, that’s the key.

Remember it’s not just Tarryn Thomas who’s committed violence against women. You’ve got media (Wayne Carey), other current & former players (read Night Games, Milne). There’s so much within & around the AFL & footy culture. The AFL needs drastic action not just lights & hugs

That’s it?

Renaming an existing payment to help women escape DV and some social media regs and tech?

That’s it?

To address a national crisis?

That’s it?

No changes to policing or justice systems?

No changes to media conduct?

No changes to accountability?

That’s it?

'What should we do to end male violence against women?'.

In Australia, our sector's experts have been providing research-based and survivor-informed recommendations for years.

The practical solutions are there.

Just implement them.

This is such a righteous annihilation of the politicking and inertia of political response to this. Both sides of politics need to be read the riot act. No more white papers and RCs, fucking DO SOMETHING

Screaming ‘Not All Men’ over the top of any woman trying to talk about issues regarding how men treat women, to prove to them that some men do listen

Recently this clip has been playing in my mind a lot.

Given the spate of domestic/sexual violence across Australia, it appears that more men need to watch and internalise it.

Men who aren’t the problem might as well not be there if they aren’t going to be part of the solution.

'C'mon dude. Watch the comments. What if she was your sister or girlfriend or wife?'

Yeah but...what if she isn't anyone's? What if she wasn't defined or valued based on her relationship to you or to any other man?

What if we respected her simply because she was a human being?

WTF is going on.

Whether you agreed with it or not, NSW changed its entire CBD nighttime culture over one teen being attacked and killed.

We’re seeing women having their lives taken by a man every four days and our governments just repeatedly say “we all need to do better”.

Fellas, if you know a bloke who appears jaded, disrespectful, threatening toward a partner, ex or women in general

It’s your duty to intervene

Be a grown up, do the right thing, risk a friendship, if they’re willing to do things to women you won’t miss that POS anyway.

Enough.

If the AFL is legit about this, there’s a certain player hoping for a lifeline next season who should not get close to a look in.

How long did it take for us to get meaningful gun reform?

- 1 horrific event. [28 April]

- 4 days later, the PM committed to act. [2 May]

- 4 days later, Cabinet endorsed a draft policy. [6 May]

- 4 days later, the National Firearms Agreement was signed. [10 May]

Yes

Have a role to play in ending male violence a/g women

We can start with simple steps

1. Acknowledge we have a crisis

2. Listen to and believe survivors

3. Examine our own masculinity, gender expectations & peer groups

4. Condemn male violence

5. Call it out
