Pain management #choicesmatter to grant hill. Glad he’s speaking up about options other than opioids.

Thanks @dcpca for hosting us at #centercelebration18 with The Center! Fun getting Soledad O'Brien perspectives on diversity. Congrats to DC SCORES International Center for Research on Women & National Legal Aid & Defender Association awardees!

Thank you Mark LeVota for testifying on behalf of DCBHA at today’s opioid oversight roundtable. We must address both the fentanyl crisis AND the need for ongoing, comprehensive substance use treatment opportunities.

CLC also partnered with Children's Health & DC Behavioral Assoc to draft a report, “Behavioral Health in the District of Columbia for Children, Youth & Families: Understanding the Current System.” ow.ly/HhEd30nFO8q

.DC Behavioral Assoc executive director Mark LeVota asks for bold leadership when it comes to school-based mental health & behavioral health services during the DBH hearing. He speaks of DBH moving in the right direction in critical, rapidly changing times.

This is not a DC government account. We’re disappointed to hear this happened. DC Department of Behavioral Health needs to hear from you when their services aren’t working.

Excited to testify on behalf of So Others Might Eat today in support of the creation of a DC Interagency Council on Behavioral Health. Substance use and mental illness are not just DBH issues; these are DC issues that must be addressed systematically and strategically.

Today, I hosted a DC Behavioral Assoc video teleconference to brief Council of DC on how #COVID19 is affecting those in the mental health care continuum, get a sense of their preparedness, and to discuss the challenges they are facing. Stay tuned for outcomes & next steps #Ward7.

CBOs are already operating on very thin margins. As Mark LeVota notes: "Mayor Muriel Bowser's DBH investments are a good first step but don't go far enough to address the providers network's persistent lack of funding, particularly in a time of heightened need.” #TeamSBMH

Make your voice heard; help DC Department of Behavioral Health #StrengthenSBHinDC Complete the Strengthening School Behavioral Health Survey While Time's Still Left! Students (grades 4-12) bit.ly/3eXtrPM Families bit.ly/3eXtw62 School staff bit.ly/3utUAQN

Now, as the Council meets to discuss the budget, we urge it to follow the Comm. on Health's lead: Please take SBMH across the finish line by ensuring the FY22 budget includes the addtl $1.9M needed to ensure EVERY public school has a SBMH clinician! #TeamSBMH 🏁 Phil Mendelson
