Folsom Dam protects Sacramento from flooding, but California needs to save more of this precious water. We need to expand or add storage capacity on this river to help us get through drought years, which are sure to come.

“There’s another option, and that’s to put it in the ground, where it could help to replenish groundwater supplies.” But you have to capture the storm flows before they go to the ocean.

We flipped the switch today for the first time on our 450hp pump that takes floodwater off the Kings River, 70,000 gpm, and will help prevent flooding downstream. The water will be put on our fields and recharge the aquifer. A real win for the Kings Sub-basin.

We’re into excellent organic tomatoes Vincent Dooley Ranch this year. We pick 24/7 to supply our cannery. In the evening the aroma of fresh, ripe tomatoes fills the air providing wholesome foods for all of the families in the USA and other countries. CA produces 1/3 of world supply.
