Sea Pea (Lathyrus japonicus) is rare in Ireland, considered 'Vulnerable' to extinction & protected under the Flora Protection Order. A population from West Cork is safely banked in the National Seed Bank at DBNherbarium NBG Ireland & germinating nicely for me this wk!

This fine specimen of sea kale (Crambe maritima) was collected Robert Llyod Praeger in 1903. This species, which grows wild along the coast of Ireland, is increasingly under threat from habitat destruction. Royal Irish Academy NBG Ireland

The front gates at NBG Ireland are looking great today! Very inviting from the street, with recently restored roofs on both gate-lodges and the scaffolding finally down!

This is a great find. We have many Reginald Scully specimens in the herbarium, including this Monotropa from Killarney in 1890. Another treasure being uncovered as we digitise our specimens DigiHerb project. Interreg NWE NBG Ireland Notice Nature Ireland
