Our latest study identifies a specific cell type and receptor essential for psilocybin’s long-lasting neural and behavioral effects 🍄🔬🧠🐁 Led by Ling-Xiao Shao and Clara Liao Funded by NIH National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) 📄Read in nature - nature.com/articles/s4158… 1/12

Excited to share our new study: "Cold memories control whole-body thermoregulatory responses" by Andrea Muñoz Zamora, Aaron Douglas & team at Trinity College Dublin, in collaboration with Lydia Lynch & Christine Ann Denny Ryan Lab nature nature.com/articles/s4158…

Really fun talk from Ismail Ahmed to end our seminar series year at UAB Neurobiology UABNeurobiology. New uncaging and sensor tools are giving me hope we might understand the diverse roles of neuropeptides sooner rather than later!

Meet 5 UAB neuroscientists whose research is advancing brain health: Drs. Linda Overstreet-Wadhiche, Alecia Gross, Kristina Visscher, & Farah Lubin of UABNeurobiology & Dr. Rita Cowell of @UAB_Neurology! 📰 buff.ly/TjNa6rr 📸: @maryefehr on Instagram

🧠 🍄 ⚡️🐭 Now published in Nature Neuroscience … Psilocybin enhances fear extinction by reshaping retrosplenial cortex ensembles—suppressing fear neurons, recruiting extinction neurons + boosting plasticity to enable behavioral flexibility nature.com/articles/s4159…

Our latest profile is here! Dr. Sasha Fulton (Sasha L. Fulton) studies cellular mechanisms of peripheral nerve damage repair and regeneration. Follow the link below to listen and learn more! storiesofwin.org/profiles/2025/… #StoriesOfWiN #WomenInNeuroscience

Excited to share the first 2(!) preprints from the Kebschull Lab. The amazing Hyopil Kim developed MAPseq2 & POINTseq and used them to map the dopaminergic cells of VTA and SNc. tl;dr MAPseq2=10x cheaper, 4x better; POINTseq=easy cell type specific barcoding; DA neurons=very cool

Vipin M. Vashishtha Another adult-onset neurological disorder that appears to be caused by a virus. Shingles - VZV Alzheimer's - VZV, HSV Multiple sclerosis - EBV I've long felt that we should be looking at human brain sequencing data at reads that do not map to the human genome.

After a sudden diagnosis of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) turned her world upside down, Abigail Boone found hope and healing at @uabpsychiatry with Dr. Aaron Fobian. Through innovative therapies like ReACT, she’s reclaiming her life. buff.ly/ocULzQG IRONMAN Triathlon
