.Southwest Airlines is keeping free bags for all ticket types when it moves to assigned seats, but here's one basic economy-like restriction coming for its cheapest fare: no advance seat selection. The airline will assign you one at check in.

By now you've heard about the test americanair is doing to weed out travelers trying to board in an earlier group. But you haven't seen a story about how the new alerts work until now. I spent Friday Tucson Airport and heard my share of ominous beeps. wsj.com/lifestyle/trav…

Brand new lounge Midway Intl. Airport, the airport’s first, and to no one’s surprise it’s at capacity. 30 min wait.

BREAKING: End of an era for Southwest Airlines. In a move passengers will jeer and investors will likely cheer, the airline is ending its storied Bags Fly Free policy. All the details here. wsj.com/business/airli…

This snaking Southwest Airlines line to check bags on a Tuesday morning is your periodic reminder to never cut it close getting to the airport, especially during spring break.
