I agree with Musk. We’re going to have to weed out some bad apples from the millions who came here illegally. But the families with values that want to contribute to the U.S. could be gold.

Wrath and revenge are desperate attempts to control emotion and unwanted behavior. Comes quickly. Opposite behaviors like patience and charity often take a very long time to summon, even in the best of circumstances. The strength required for patience alone implies great effort.

Charity is more than donation. It’s giving patience and understanding beyond what most people can summon under pressure or threat. Perceived threat happens daily. Do we have patience for the offenders much less charity? Most want to get even or at least get to safety. Fight/flee?

Patient people summon wisdom that includes empathy for those offending. Often difficult to play, strong backsteps allow time to think-to consider possible reasoning or loss of control. Striving for superiority is on everyone’s mind ( even credit for patience), yet this helps.

Where do we go to find patience & charity to adopt? Who teaches these? Is there a final exam? Some leaders demonstrate these strengths & we can watch how. But beyond the talented restraint lies the deepest belief in a philosophy that links one person’s well being to all others.

Our greatest spiritual minds teach that our commonality supersedes any individual striving. We sputter through life acting the star role often never realizing the greater good-the whole body of souls affected by us and everyone else. Bringing joy to the whole lifts all. Curious?

Search your heart for the last time you extended grace to a person you believed wronged you. It can happen in an instant. At a stop light. Or with your angry daughter. Doesn’t the fury dissipate quickly? That’s God giving you a pat on the back the back. Empathy can work.

Practicing grace & charity calms the mind, soothes the heart and helps us put down our emotional weapons in our day. If we’re armed and ready to confront, we live in constant fear. That kills us by itself. Take the challenge to prepare your mind and heart. Wait, my wife awakens!

A quick glance at my beautiful 19 th c. couch and I see our dog has started to chew the fabric. He’s a menace with furniture. Should I greet him with my instant rage? Do I love him enough to calm then correct him? My heart fills with joy when I think about him. This tests us.

Charity and forgiveness, as our principled forebears have written, is key to civilization as well as salvation. Those who practice these are blessed and bless others daily through intentionality. I have to pray for strength to bring these to practice, I don’t know about you. Hard

Grace is amazing in itself. Super-human, heart-felt Grace is truly a gift. Perhaps you can recall, or even try to imagine, someone in your past extending to you Grace. I sure can. I wouldn’t be here without it, and I really hope I get better at it. How do hurt people do it?

Envy is a horror show likely introduced by the devil herself. It’s an equal opportunity form of hate designed to divide people in the worst way: there’s no way back unless utterly renounced. It’s a pact to interfere, sabotage and make perpetual misery. Why do we partake?

James ERIC Davison, PhD (@davisonphd35222) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Do you think envy is inbred? Selfishness comes naturally. But so does empathy. What lures people to envy? From my mother’s point of view, one can never be satisfied, and one must always suck up to the rich and powerful. My brothers followed this lead. My sister and I chose better

James ERIC Davison, PhD (@davisonphd35222) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I’m not bragging; I have many selfish faults. But I will not endorse my failings. Envy is a failing that self-justifies. It’s easy to find selfish people to admire, if that’s your thing. But they’ll never care about you, and narcissistic envy always destroys self. Who wants it?

James ERIC Davison, PhD (@davisonphd35222) 's Twitter Profile Photo

For one thing the envious try to dominate everyone and get the most for themselves. Rarely honest about it, the envious set themselves up to be popular with the most powerful in society ( even pastors) to bask in their glory. It is their opium. Not honest sacrifice. Why is this?

James ERIC Davison, PhD (@davisonphd35222) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I believe Envy rots our hearts and denies us a soul connection with people we objectify. With so much effort put into seething envy sometimes joyful times and even gratitude can slip away. This is to be reversed, if you want to live with a full heart. And it starts by giving!

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. And money begets power, right or wrong. How do we forgive abuses of power while still taking the evil down? Certainly with prayer. We should do this fervently together. And prepare for change.

I have Trump flag and MAGA sign out front of my home on a busy by-way in Chambersburg, PA. I get lots of support, but also hate yelled out. Recently I was set up by someone bringing animal control down on me costing me over $600 dollars. I recently adopted a dog who escapes.
