For my non-teacher friends, this is a friendly reminder that most teachers are working harder and putting more hours into remote, hyrbid, or in person teaching this year than any other previous school year.

Great job Saskatchewan! Our province is back below 100 active #COVID19SK cases for the first time since July 15. There are now 98 active cases, well down from our peak of 322 on July 29. We now have the lowest per capita rate of active cases of the four western provinces.

Our #HughCairnsVC families are the absolute best. Today they organized a physically distanced surprise welcome back party on the front lawn for our staff. We couldn’t have felt more appreciated and we can hardly wait to welcome your kids back starting Sept 8. #SoaringEverHigher

We all have a job to make this the most memorable year on the planet. If you think this is anyone else's problem, you're wrong. If you think this is the government's responsibility, or your administration's, check yourself. Drop your shoulders, and step in with your whole heart.

The answer in the process of systemic change, is reminding teachers that all we need you to do (even behind a mask) is to keep showing up. Show up, look our babies in the eyes and say, I’ve got you. Let’s take this one step at a time.

It is extremely important for educators to work on their mental & physical health right now. Whether school is in person or virtual, we are dealing with stress that we have never encountered. Take time for yourself daily/weekly - read, walk, rest, spend time with loved ones.

If Mr Rogers and Bill Nye understood the need to limit their productions to 30 mins, shouldn't school districts know that virtual classes should as well? Just ask your teachers how focused and engaged they are feeling after an hour on a zoom meeting?

My thoughts on the 1st week back with students: - staggered starts helped a lot. - teachers are amazingly creative. - EA’s & support staff are courageous. - our superintendents and senior admin. are tireless. - and ultimately, kids make everything better. #HappyToBeBack

Dropping our shoulders, and gently remembering that our little people have been navigating these same unchartered waters right alongside us is critical to where we will be, as a community, in the weeks and months ahead. The fear and anxiety you’ve felt, they likely have too.
