It's a very exciting time in tech right now. If you're a first-rate programmer, there are a huge number of other places you can go work rather than at the company building the infrastructure of the police state.

My feed has been full of canceled AI grants, specifically. Safety, bias, and factual correctness have all been defunded. Digital humanities programs like Project Perseus have been cut. Training programs have ended, as have consumer studies. All the stuff that industry WON'T do.

BREAKING: this morning we received news of the FBI executing search warrants against multiple pro-Palestine organizers at the university, including at least one GEO member. This is an alarming escalation by the university and state. The situation is developing; more soon.
