There should be somebody at the local theatre there on the ground who checks all accommodation. Once touring theatres had good digs lists constantly updated for cleanliness & safety and before that if you found awful digs you nailed a kipper to the inside of the wardrobe door

The UK theatre/equity weekly touring allowance comes no where near the standard of living issues we have to face and so we will now henceforward pay £400 a week
