Today's big biotech win is that we might be on the verge of a cure for type-1 diabetes🧵 Twelve diabetics were injected with stem cell-derived pancreatic islets. They started producing insulin again. One year in, 10/12 participants no longer needed to inject insulin.

We have the guidelines, so why aren’t we referring to PT and other therapies for Parkinson’s? Let me say this clearly: There are strong evidence-based guidance to refer people w/ Parkinson’s to physical therapy early and regularly. Yet, it’s not happening. Why? We talked about

Taking caffeine *during* exercise in the heat ⬆️ time to exhaustion after moderate intensity cycling. 🚴🏻 Cyclists took 5 mg/kg caffeine ~5 minutes into exercise at 55% of VO2 peak for 30 minutes ⏰ Time-to-exhaustion at 90% VO2 peak was 53 seconds longer after ☕️ vs. placebo
