This is sobering, but I have a sincere question about it: The Harris campaign/Ds ran over $200 million in ads about the economy. Much of this messaging *did* emphasize a specific program and *did* employ populist appeals. As David Weigel reported, this stuff was *constantly*

There will be a lot of soul-searching among Democrats, as there should be. Those who criticize Joe Biden for not dropping out earlier, or Kamala Harris for her campaign, are looking in the wrong place. This was a broader rejection ofe ruling elites. 1

Chaos, retribution, and disarray radiated from the White House the last time Trump occupied it. This time may be different. But if it isn’t, Illinois remains a place of stability and competent governance. No matter the storm we face, you'll be welcome, safe, and protected here.

This tells us Biden was pretty well cooked in July. Harris gave the Dems a fighting chance. Better minority turnout and a less drastic Latino swing would've narrowly won it for her. Her performance might've helped Dems down ballot.

Harris spent most of the last month campaigning in swing states. I hope we can finally drop the ridiculous canard that Clinton lost because she didn't visit WE, MI and PA. No, that wasn't the reason. Harris and Clinton both lost for the same reasons. 1/2

The American people elected Donald Trump, knowing full well a jury found him liable for a sex crime. This means he's been given a mandate to install sex offenders throughout the government. by Hugh Hewitt

It took a humiliating military defeat, crushing sanctions, and a historic economic collapse to turn Germany fascist. All it took in the United States was the election of one Black president.

As with Musk doing foreign policy and everything else, this is the privatization of public power, which is always followed by the privatization of public money into the same hands. We saw this in Russia and it's how to replace a democracy with oligarchy.

Just to be clear: the incoming Trump administration is going to war against their own GOP senate majority and the constitution's advice & consent provision so they can make a man investigated for *sex trafficking a minor* into the most powerful law enforcement officer in the

The Republicans were obsessed with Obama releasing his birth certificate, and VP Harris releasing her McDonald’s pay stubs. BUT THEY don’t want to release the report investigating THEIR Attorney General nominee for allegedly hooking up with a child? Interesting how that works!

What's really overlooked about the transgender bathroom thing is, no one is literally going to stand guard at restrooms and check people's birth certificates. So really, these restrictions are just license for anyone to stop and harass women who don't "look feminine" enough.
