One work danced on pointe, one mostly in ballet flats, one in bare feet. And all very different works in mood too. Thoughts on the #BadischesStaatsballett's 'Leuchtfeuer' triple bill at the staatstheaterka

It's always a fine evening. This year, Kristen McNally came up trumps with London Children's Ballet - LondonChildrenBallet and her fine production of 'Ella's Big Chance: A Jazz-Age Cinderella', based on the Shirley Hughes children's book and relocated to the Roaring Twenties.

I hadn't managed to get to an ElmhurstBalletSchool School summer performance for a couple of years, so it was great to return last Saturday for a very enjoyable afternoon watching the Upper School students.

It was a lovely evening as the sun shone on the beautiful setting of Northington Grange near Alresford in Hampshire. A lovely evening on stage at The Grange Festival too, with #JacobWye's terrific Perennial a late and very welcome addition to Ballet Black's advertised double-bill.

"A completely bazaar, frenzied, pornographic, nonsense show. It’s also oddly compulsive." Nicola Claire on 'No President' by #NatureTheater of Oklahoma (actually from New York) at the Southbank Centre London. seeingdance.com/nature-theater…

Magnificat really is a joy. But I never got on with Marie Chouinard's 'bODY_rEMIX/gOLDBERG _vARIATIONS' and I feel much the same about its revisioning as 'Body Remix/Remix'. More thoughts from Theaterhaus Stuttgart and Colours International Dance Festival.

Nicola Claire reports on this year's The Royal Ballet School Summer Performance Royal Ballet and Opera (Royal Ballet & Opera). "It is the dancers who ultimately make it what it is. And this year’s performance was, without a shadow of a doubt, great." seeingdance.com/royal-ballet-s…

I had been lucky enough to see a run through of much of #BarakMarshall's 'Barker' in rehearsal, so I had a preety good idea of just how good the finished piece might be. It was even better than expected! A real treat. Thoughts on #GauthierDance Juniors at #Colours Int Dance Fest

A final look at this year's super Colours International Dance Festival, and The Center Will Not Hold, a cracking coming together of tap, hip-hop and live percussion.

Thoughts on a very special evening at the Staatstheater Nürnberg Nuremberg and the ballet company's penultimate performance under #GoyoMontero's directorship before he leaves for Hannover. It was an amazingly great show. Without doubt, one of the best this year so far, if not the best.

"These young people have had the opportunity of a lifetime, working with some of the greatest people in dance today, and they repaid in by the bucketload." Nicola Claire reports from Sadler's Wells on the NYDC in Gravity, made with #BoyBlue. seeingdance.com/nydc-gravity-2…

Thoughts on the 'Stravinsky in Paris' double bill by the Ballett des Staatstheaters am Gärtnerplatz. I found Jerome Verbruggen's 'Farewell to Paris', inspired by 'An American in Paris', rather marshmallow, but Marco Goecke's unusual take on 'Rite of Spring' is a rare beauty.

"Yui Yonezawa is the image of Romantic beauty. Fragile and soulful with delicate limbs she seemed to float... strong support of Shun Izawa as Albrecht." Maggie Foyer on the 新国立劇場バレエ団 The National Ballet of Japan (National Ballet of Japan) and a triumphant Giselle at Royal Ballet and Opera seeingdance.com/national-balle…

The last time I was at IF: Milton Keynes International Festival, it was wall-to-wall sunshine and blazing hot. The first Saturday morning this year could hardly have been more different. But the rain did stop, and I got in shows by #ClubGirko, Pagrav Dance Company & #NoFitState CIrcus

A seriously smashing evening at the The Rep with LondonCityBallet. Last year was good but this is several notches up. A gorgeous but rarely seen (why?) Balanchine, an impressive new work from Florent Melac (Paris Opera Ballet), and works by Liam Scarlett and Alexei Ratmansky

Definitely one of those exhibitions where you wish you'd left more time. A look at the excellent Five Friends exhibition on at Munich’s #MuseumBrandhorst since April featuring John Cage, Merce Cunningham, and artists Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg and Cy Twombly

The dancing and choreography are outstanding, the storytelling pitch-perfect... Taps into the feel and mood of the television series really successfully. Nicola Claire on Rambert #PeakyBlinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby' Sadler's Wells seeingdance.com/rambert-peaky-…
