An anecdote for all those struggling scientists and academics out there: we initially had 5 scientific journals in a row "desk reject" this work (returned without even going out for peer review) due to "lack of novelty" and "lack of societal relevance/public interest." 🤔🤷‍♂️

Our paper is published at Nature Communications today! We found that vegetation sensitivity to precipitation has increased in the drylands and decreased in the wet regions during the past four decades. CO2 is the major cause for these divergent trends. nature.com/articles/s4146…
