If the talk that Ruling Court may not run in the Derby comes to pass, where does he go next? Stay at 1m for a rematch with Field of Gold in the SJP? Would be one silver lining to the dark cloud.

As far as jockeys go, I don't think there is a better job going than the one Colin Keane has just got. The history behind the silks, but the bloodlines in the right hands that promise future success. He's going to ride a stack of Group 1 winners.

Obviously the draw in horseracing is generated at random, but in dog racing it isn't the case. How did they decide who got what stall for the Greyhound Derby as I noticed that cheap Sandwiches and Bockos Diamond have been in 5/6 pretty much throughout.

Interesting comments here on Never So Brave and why Wokingham might appeal more than Buckingham Palace. Potential knock-on effect for same owner's favourite More Thunder, too.

Every year - approach Royal Ascot handicaps with such clarity ante-post. Thrown in, laid out for it, loads in favour etc. At decs, realise there's at least another 6 that you could say the same for and another 10 you can make a good case for. Never learn.

On a week that will have many sweating like Bandari, there won't be a braver man at Ascot this week than him that has chosen to wear a pale blue shirt.

Ground going to be much livelier for Utmost Respect than when he lagged up in the Silver Cup at Ayr nearly 20 years ago. You going top price again James?!
