For fun and work, I build Generative Models. Comp neuroscience PhD. Was trying to understand the brain to help build AI, but it appears it's no longer necessary

All of twitter is piling on Elon here in responses and quote-tweets, yet he doesn't seem to mind People with interesting things to say will leave eventually, and only stupid memes will remain, and twitter will lose its relevance and become another tiktok/Instagram

Predicting the next "multimodal token" is, in fact, a world model Except for being more accurate and faster, there are precisely zero things missing

o3 sounds on paper like the perfect first year PhD student Infinitely hardworking, infinitely knowledgeable, is exceptionally technically competent, reads instantly everything you send it, and immediately starts working on it

New work by Ido Aizenbud and Danielay from our lab! What makes individual human neurons much more complex compared to rat neurons? Turns out, it's not just about their larger size All details in the thread below and the paper on bioRxiv

I feel the need to repeat this now that we know about o3 and seen some of it's capabilities: I strongly suspect that 2025-2027 will produce a huge amount of "miracle years" by scientists Many scientists have accumulated decades of insights about their topic of research, and

Reading twitter often feels like reading comments about events without direct explanation about what the events themselves were, and if you are not in the loop, it takes a while to catch up Reminds me of the brain receiving mostly diff inputs, and needs to build coherent picture

Slowly but surely, more and more features are being added by Dean Geckt to this nice neuron visualization tool My personal prediction (dean himself is not aware of it yet): in a few months this tool will evolve to simulate all neuron types, and in a few years - the entire brain

when you release a benchmark with these results its either very interesting or very boring I think this specific one is on the more interesting side

What makes human pyramidal neurons uniquely suited for complex information processing? How can human neurons’ distinct properties contribute to our advanced cognitive abilities?
