My public lecture at the Institute of Political Science TU Darmstadt has been CANCELED due to my statements against apartheid in Israel and genocide in Gaza. Here I share the email I received and my response to faculty. There is no academic freedom in Germany. 👇

What if when Republicans attacked immigrants, Democrats stood up for them—and then pivoted to attacking Republicans on abortion? What if instead of letting Republicans attack Democrats as warmongers, Democrats adopted an anti-war agenda advocating a just new geopolitical order?

Why does Ezra Klein keep repeating the lie that Trump made significant gains w/ Black voters? Just nonsense and blame-shifting.

The notion circulating that concern with prices and inflation is intrinsically right-wing is just wildly historically off-base. Both wages and price/inflation for necessities have clearly been adopted as left-wing issues in many, many contexts.

Think about the very progressive *districts* of these reps. Now think about the demographic composition of these *states* that Harris had to win. It's overdetermined, but this is not a convincing argument that racism and misogyny were "negligible" at the national level.

Absolutely powerful gathering with Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt in Ziibiing Lab. When I founded it as a global Indigenous politics research collaboratory at University of Toronto, I dreamt of hosting profound conversations like this. From Hawaiʻi to Palestine, occupation is a crime—our liberation is entwined.

As we await ceasefire hopefully, and agonize over the time before it should begin, the best thing we can do is show our solidarity by giving people what they need: material support. That means continuing to give and lifting up campaigns, even more than before.
