I am deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty The Queen, our thoughts are with The Royal Family as they mourn the loss of such an influential figure. Her death will have an impact on her immediate family as well as being felt by all who admired her across the world.

It was fantastic to be able to share this with staff today. As organisations who look after many families who suffer the tragedy of #BabyLoss - it was only right that we do all we can for our workforce. I hope this means that staff don’t feel like they have to suffer in silence.

Thank you to our maternity and chaplaincy teams for truly wonderful #WaveOfLight service at New Cross Hospital - remembering all the babies who sadly died too soon. “These are my footprints, so perfect and so small. These tiny footprints, never touched the ground at all.”

Rest in peace Rob and thank you for everything you did for your colleagues and your patients. Our thoughts remain with your family and friends 💙

It was great to be able to send an email congratulating each of our 450 Royal Awards nominees today. I’m looking forward to seeing the final shortlist later this month - the judges are going to have a tough job on their hands that’s for sure.

It’s with great sadness that I wish to announce my retirement from the NHS in March next year. Leading The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust 🏥 and Walsall Healthcare has been a true privilege and I want to thank all the staff, patients and partners who I’m so proud to have worked with.
