My new professional life in Navarro ISD is getting real! Today was an energizing all staff convocation. Last week was new staff orientation. Next week classes start. And many students have already returned for band, athletics, and cheer. I can tell it is going to be a great year!

We are grateful for the start of another year of collaboration with the amazing bilingual educators in Bastrop ISD. Oracy curriculum development, dual language program design, professional learning, and leadership coaching.

I’m going to remain laser-like focused on academics this year, but I am looking forward to watching student athletes compete every chance I get. Navarro ISD loves their Panther sports teams! So does Austin ISD’s Bowie High School, so I’ll have plenty of events to choose from.

This was my 18th graduation ceremony this spring & summer. As a career educator, shaking their hands and congratulating graduates is one of the most fulfilling rituals.
