The Oratory bellringers had a trip to the Low Countries. Dordrecht has the only two rings of bells in Holland hung for English change-ringing, and is home of Europe's largest carillon, which they saw being played, before moving on to Ypres, to ring Belgium's only ring of bells.

Today, we mourn and try to articulate an incalculable loss. I celebrated & preached at the Abbey’s first Requiem for Queen Elizabeth II at 8am. As The Queen said, ‘grief is the price we pay for love.’ But in the Eucharist, love is the gift we receive for grief.

Two hundred years ago today, St John Henry Newman of the Oratory began his Christian ministry as he was ordained a deacon in the Church of England at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. Members of the community visited the cathedral to mark the occasion. “It is over. I am thine, O Lord”

Nineteen #ringers represented the Oratory in the W W Worthington ringing contest held at #Ranmoor. The "Oratory Seniors" band were placed 3rd out of 7, whilst the "Oratory Youths" were close behind in 4th. The Trophy was awarded to a band from the The Church of England in Derbyshire. Well done all!
