I am saying this as a historically unabashed fan of U2: That song and video for “Atomic City” made me feel — simultaneously — like they were, uh, trying so damn hard…and, well, not trying at all. I really don’t know how else to articulate it, but: It’s bad.

So, in a strange turn of events, I checked my vacation time accruals and it looked like I’d been shorted some time off. As it turned out, I was owed nearly 100 hours of vacation time. It’s been fixed. This is one of my greatest achievements/surprises in my working life.
