We’re back at Long Eaton United FC with the Ives after our last visit for a Vase game 12 1/2 years ago. It’s certainly been smartened up since our last visit although a bit disappointed that they’ve gotten rid of the grass mound down the far end! #uptheives

And so my 24-25 season begins….. Kicking it off by visiting my nearest club Ely City FC for a friendly against Bury Town. Hoping for a few new ground ticks whilst combining it with some railway journeys this season.

Gotta love midweek ground hopping! A local trip to Histon Football Club v Corby Town FC in a preseason friendly.

Another friendly & a visit to one of my favourite clubs Soham Town Rangers FC who are hosting Holbeach United. The season starts proper for some clubs next Saturday & I’m really looking forward a season of being a neutral ground hopper whilst ticking off some new grounds to boot!

The footy season proper has arrived & what could be better than a new ground tick! I’m at Hadleigh United FC v Dereham Town for an Eastern Counties Premier fixture. It’s a really smart ground with a brilliant clubhouse. I think I’m gonna enjoy this season. #groundhopping #nonleague

It’s the beginning of August which means the start of the FA Cup (obviously!) I’ve made the shortish trip to Newmarket Town F.C of whom start the season at step 4 for the first time against decent step 5 opponents March Town United in the extra preliminary round. #groundhopping

GROUND HOPPING - NEW GROUND TICK!! Back in East London for the 2nd Saturday in a row. This time I’m at the Wadham Lodge Sports Centre taking in Walthamstow Football Club (step4) v Saffron Walden (step 5) in the FA Cup Preliminary Round. #groundhopping #nonleague

GROUND HOPPING!!! Keeping it reasonably local today as I’m at March Town FC for an FA Vase tie in the 1st Qualifying Round v Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers. Always a pleasure to come here as the ground is full of charm and character. #groundhopping #NonLeague

GROUND HOPPING - NEW GROUND TICK!! Made my way to Gravesend for a #FACup 1st Qualifying Round encounter between Punjab United FC v Corinthian and has the potential to be a cracker It’s a neat tidy set up at the Steve Cook Stadium. Most pleasant. #Groundhopping #NonLeague

GROUND HOPPING - NEW GROUND TICK! I’m at the Community Stadium for Colchester United FC v Bromley FC in the EFL L2 It’s my first football league game in just over 13 years. However, I have done 763 games (non league & cup) in between. Must say that I’m not used to a crowd this size!

Bought a ticket for tomorrow’s Horsham FC v Dorking Wanderers FC in the FA Cup. However the train company Thameslink have cancellled nearly all their trains tomorrow. I really don’t want the ticket go to waste, so if anyone would like it for free please send me a DM & I’ll forward it on.

GROUND HOPPING - BONUS FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL! What better way to start a weekend than with a Friday night game of footy! I’m at the wonderful Nest, the home of Lakenheath FC for an Eastern Counties Encounter v Fakenham Town. I love this ground. Easily my favourite in Suffolk.

GROUND HOPPING - NEW GROUND TICK!! I’m back in Suffolk for an Eastern Counties Premier encounter of Walsham Le Willows Fc v Mulbarton Wanderers. This really is an idyllic setting in deepest Suffolk. Lakenheath has got a challenger for my favourite ground within the county!
