I tell them to pick up a missal and a Bible and walk with me thru each portion of the Mass starting with Ps42 thru John 1-14. Of course given the poor catechesis the last 75 yrs they are amazed. Same for the NO missalette. give up the need to be spoon fed, educate yourself!!!

15 % is THE STANDARD!! You work your way up or down from there. I have gone as high as 100% (maybe higher) for a really good waitress or waiter but not afraid to complain to the manager about a bad one and leave nothing. Tips are EARNED not guaranteed.

I received more physical punishment from lay teachers than I ever received from Christian Brothers or the Sisters that taught us. Loved the Sisters!!! Not so much the Brothers.
