And here’s my hand colored and marked up guide for the cover to Superman 42, which was pencilled and inked by me. On covers, we were allowed only one of two airbrush style color transitions, going from light to dark or dark to light. This was a financial restriction:)

Something everyone should be taking away from this comic script discourse is that artists are as much the author of the comic/ graphic novel as the writer, and they should be credited as such. On Nielsen by publishers. *Not* as the 'illustrator'. It's an important distinction.

We ended up needing a couple of pages for issue 5, just to build out the story a bit. I had some specific ideas in mind, but rather than script them out, I drew some layouts with word balloons, to show Saladin what I had in mind.
