The tragedy of Jeb Bush. His dimwitted brother gets to be POTUS, wrecks his party, and nearly the country, with his ineptitude. Then when Jeb goes for it, all he becomes known for is “please clap.” Jeb would’ve been a better president

Bob Uecker’s passing still resonates because among us white Midwesterners he represented a familiar type that we grew up with. My grandfather had the same deadpan sense of humor. The same affect, the same style. He died when I was a kid, but Uecker kept his spirit alive.

In Guatemala you see billboards paid for by NGOs pleading with people to pay their taxes. Because the government is too weak to enforce tax collection, they have to rely on PSAs And the only people who truly benefit from this are the corrupt elite. Everyone else suffers.

The first thing Francis did when he became pope in 2013 was visit a women’s prison in Rome and washed the feet of the prisoners. Throughout his time as pope he spoke truth to power and embodied the mission of the church to uplift the poor and the marginalized.

We’ve spent billions of dollars to make driving and parking anywhere you want as easy as possible. In fact one could argue that facilitating driving has been the US’s national project for the last 80 years. So I promise you’ll be totally fine driving downtown to the Bucks game

Multi family housing mixed in with duplexes in a neighborhood of mostly single family homes. And somehow the Earth has maintained its orbit and the sun has continued to rise

Alaska is an interesting choice for the US-Russia meeting about Ukraine. It was the only place in the world where American and Russian expansionist ambitions came into direct conflict.

I’m fairly certain that when the final tally is made, the floods last weekend will go down as the costliest and most disruptive disaster in Milwaukee’s history.

I was driving around one of the wealthier suburbs the other day and passed the house that a boomer co-worker bought for $35K in the 1980s and now would we worth well over $1M. Pissed me off
