There is little question that we will emerge from Covid-19 with a new normal. But there is a big and important question as to whether we will emerge from George Floyd with a better normal. Let’s choose the better normal by turning listening into learning and talk into testimony.

Juneteenth reminds us both of our reluctance to do what’s right and God’s insistence to overcome evil with goodness. May God continue to bring us out of our reluctance and into his insistence.

Rule of Life: Try to empathize before you criticize. Goodness always trumps rightness. Love has a better chance of gaining a hearing than accusation does every time.

Rule for Life: interact gratitude instead of attitude. Gratitude help us to be thankful for what the people in our lives are doing which ignites our imagination. A negative attitude concentrates more on what the people in our lives aren’t doing in order to meet our expectations.

New Equation for Pastors: If 1 dog year = 7 human yrs., then 1 Covid Year of Pastoring should = at least 7 yrs of normal pastoral experience. So if you have been pastoring through Covid this year then I say you should be aloud to 7 yrs. of experience to your resume. Thoughts?

Two biggest questions for this next season of life in our culture: 1. Do u want to get well? 2. What does it mean to “get well”?

The primary question for the Christian is not “Does it work?” but “Is it good?” Don’t sell out the possibility of a long-term win for short-term success. It may seem right in the moment but will only lead to a series of wrong decisions in the wrong direction.

When it comes to building a disciple-making culture, the question for most of us as leaders is not, “Do we have the heart for it?”. We do. The better question is “Do we have the stomach for it?”
