#morayoalbum by Wizkid was wildly anticipated by fans and critics as a possible pacemaker in the afrobeats but did it leave up to expectations? 1) Troubled mind: Started with an evergreen voice. With proper lyrics would have been an okay song. Verdict: 5.5/10

2) Karamo: Nothing to say 4/10 and the 4 is for the producer who made the beat. 3) Kese (Dance): This may be controversial but the so called hype about this song is superficial. It’s surely a 5/10 4) Bad Girl: A waste of a collaboration. 4/10. No direction with this song

5) Time: Balogun needs to take some time to write some lyrics. He is killing his art. 4.5/10. 6) Piece of my heart: When we talk about the levels an Afrobeats superstar should maintain, this song envisions it. Brent Faiyaz carried this song and made it a hit. A solid 8/10

7) Break me Down: The lady on the hook delivered. 6.5/10 8) Bend: I consider this the club hit of the album. It flowed easily from the beat, rhythm, it was smooth. A good 6/10. 9) A million Blessings: I liked how it started off as the end to Bend. A calm smooth sound. 7/10

10) Apres Minuit: 5.5/10 11) Bad for you: Again the featured artist brings an A game. Jazmine delivered a 7.5/10 12) Soji: maybe Ayo shouldn’t make another song alone 2/10 13) Don’t care: 2.5/10 14) Slow: The selling point of this project is the beautiful voices on it. 7/10

One thing is sure, Wizkid is who he thinks he is. This album would grow on its listeners. The album depended heavily on the featured artistes. They were the lifeblood of each good track. Wiz needs to work on his pen game. For 13 years it hasn’t developed.

Some lyrics and beats were similar to the starboy of old. It’s a good project and is surely Top 3 of the albums he has released till date. And it has a shout for Top 5 albums in Afrobeats in 2024. But it is neither the best nor 2nd best.
