Sometimes it seems as if I have spent the first half of my life refusing to let white people define me and the second half refusing to let black people define me.

I am extremely grateful to be not only black but American. I have been given so much opportunity to succeed on my own. Being black has never slowed me down and I never felt inferior to anyone. Media will never convince me America is a racist country.
