1/6 Well I can honestly say yesterday was more emotional than I ever imagined it would be. I’m overwhelmed by the many messages sent to me personally and on social media from relatives, friends, competitors and followers of our great game the world over.

2/6 The span of messages from people I’ve met over my 30 year journey in our great sport of bowls was really humbling and I thank everyone for such kind words. I have always been proud to have the honour of representing my great country in every event I’ve attended.

3/6 The journey like most things in life has had ups and downs but the support from team mates has always been special. The friendships built with competitors across the world has made it the absolute best journey.

4/6 I remain a passionate Scot and great supporter of our nation and wish our men, ladies and para team heading to the world Championships in Oz in a couple of months my very best wishes and I’m sure medals will be returned home.

5/6 Finally a huge thanks to my family who have been my biggest supporters over the duration of my journey. I’m absolutely sure that without that support my success would not come close to what I have achieved.
