Brooding, beautiful atmoblack delivering poignant emotion & crystalline melody through mournful stillness. Thoughtful, measured string and piano touches add depth to simple, hooky riffing. Love the immediate, organic drums. Attractively modest, radiantly dark, graveside romantic.

Towering volcano of solar flare post-metal and ghost in the machine cry for help prog rock. Dimensionless, crushing ultramodern chug-hum bleeds and bashes paths of gorgeous, forlorn melody. True songcraft, so rare for this style, makes this more than the sum of its precise parts.

Released today in 2005, this is easily one of my favorite extreme metal releases!

Every track stands out on this album; a Death Metal album whose songs can stand on their own & are easily distinguishable.

Airy, ashen ceremonial hard rock paired w/distant, grim gothic metal. Less fire and brimstone, more cultist moonlit procession. Almost unbelievably self-same & devoid of risk or exploration; a relaxed, meditative stream of pretty melody & sullen stoicism. Limited but enjoyable.

I feel like I'm making it up at this point but there's a metal album (Death or black metal I can't remember) that's somewhat recent that had an astronaut on the front that I can NOT remember for the life of me what it is and it's driving me nuts. Somebody help me find it please!!
