Dynamic and engaging starburst fuzz rock. The band’s trademark blend of glassy emo shimmer and buzzing stoner simmer stretches out and relaxes in a colorful cloud of smoke. Laidback vocals fit well but fail to elevate excellent instrumentation. A grinning sunbeam, pure vibes 🕶️

Forlorn, starry doom metal w/a slight black metal sear. Focused on expansive, echoing gloom more than crash & bang heaviness, the 50min LP is a melancholy meditation on distance & loss. While shades of grey could greatly benefit from more red and blue, the end result is inviting.

Eyes wide open ecstatic torture from the masters, returning after a twenty year hibernation. Lifelong fans may find the more polished sound a turnoff, but the album's intense focus & brevity is irresistibly hypnotic. Unhinged but measured, a premeditated clean kill catharsis.

Moving to my new place in Wisconsin next week. Haven't listened to music in months but have an appealing backlog if I ever return. Blankly moving forward, facing the path of time with clenched teeth.

A well done horror-synth intro & 3 nasty OSDM grave churning songs in 12min. Stripped down & jagged without being muddy, songs are simple but never boring, with powerful vocals. The barebones approach highlights both the demo's strengths & limitations. A caveperson crowd-pleaser.

Spectral Voice delivering some of the tastiest and nastiest riffs with their massively hostile sophomore release “Sparagmos”.

For those who’ve been waiting for the follow up to the endearing 2017 debut “Eroded Corridors of Unbeing” Play It Loud!

Expansive & moody melodic black/death/doom. Booming My Dying Bride riffing, restrained but effective symphonics, menacing post-rock glow. Influences are obvious and the LP could use more color, but the hooks are undeniable. Skyward misery, the loss of beauty & the beauty of loss.

Scorched & snotty blackened thrash, too fast for life or dynamics. Barely there at 28min, the LP is linear & mostly predicable but enjoyable as a flash of red light. Very difficult to impress me with this style as it typically feels half-baked. Get in, drunkenly smash, get out.
