Watching ‘Starcrash’ (1978) I was inspired once again to put my theory to the test that you can add a track from the 1985 Philip Glass soundtrack “Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters” to any action movie scene, no matter how bad the scene, and turn it into something extremely fancy.

Turns out immigrants aren’t “takers” after all - they’re givers to the US economy and essential to a sustainable future, especially if we want elder generations to age with dignity.

We’re LIVE NOW to answer a simple question: Why does the U.S. pay, by far, the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs? I look forward to hearing from the CEOs of Johnson&Johnson, Merck and Bristol Meyers Squibb on this very serious issue. x.com/i/broadcasts/1…

A heavily armed base, in a state of frenzy, primed to believe in conspiracies of Great Replacement and globalist elites conspiring against “real Americans.” And now their political leaders are telling them they have the right to secede – or otherwise start shooting. New piece:

Time to break out the immortal objection of a child who has previously asked not to be read Australian bedtime stories: "What did you bring that book that I didn't want to be read to out of about out back in Down Under up for?"

4 years ago I missed this great, informative 🧵about Fred Hampton, killed by Chicago PD & the FBI. I just learned that it got so much traction, it moved the needle substantially on sales of a book it mentions by Hampton's lawyer Jeffrey Haas “The Assassination of Fred Hampton…"

Robert Towne hating Greystoke so much that he listed his dog (P.H. Vazak) as a screenwriter is pretty funny on its own, but significantly funnier after P.H. Vazak got nominated for a Best Screenplay Oscar, still the only the dog to receive such a nomination

Will Stancil At stake is the entire federal civil service. The machinery of state built since WWII. Freedom & dignity for millions. Yes, democracy itself. That's not an exaggeration. Yet this country's elites have utterly failed to convey those stakes to the populace. A *grotesque* failure.

The US is right on the precipice of falling into bona fide fascism & *the vast majority of the voting public doesn't even know it*. That speaks to a deeply diseased information environment. Until Dems do something about that, all their self-flagellation will buy them nothing.

Joe Cirincione writes Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists on Trump's nuclear policy agenda, if elected. "Project 2025...would push the United States into an expensive, dangerous, and destabilizing nuclear confrontation unseen since the darkest days of the Cold War." — Joe Cirincione

I disagree with Joe Cirincione on some particulars of current US plan to modernize nuke forces, but his critique of Project 2025 proposals is spot on. Those ideas would lead to full-blown nuke arm race with Russia & China at great cost but little/no net contribution to US security.

Indeed, some of life's mysteries cannot be explained. Why would the prime minister who has spent all year playing Biden for a fool in order to boost his political fortunes decide to once again play Biden for a fool? The world may never know axios.com/2024/09/26/leb…
