There was one night where I was in the middle of a dungeon on Majora’s Mask, and my mom told me it was time to go to bed. My dad knew that if I shut off the game I would have to redo the entire dungeon, so he had me pretend to be asleep to fool my mom and let me back on the game.

This franchise has been with me through every chapter of my life, it has essentially become a key part of who I am. Castlevania is the perfect amalgamation of story, gameplay, artwork, and music, and no other franchise comes close.

One of my favorite recurring moments in any Castlevania game is the iconic final staircase leading to Dracula’s throne room. You get a nice view of the castle below you that you conquered to get here, accompanied by an uninviting moon in the background. #Castlevania
